Tad Seifert, M.D.

Tad Seifert, M.D., is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City. He completed his internal medicine internship at the University of Louisville and his residency in neurology at the University of Texas at Houston. He then completed a fellowship in headache and facial pain at the renowned Houston Headache Clinic.

Dr. Seifert currently serves as director of the Norton Sports Health Concussion Program. His clinical practice involves interpreting preseason baseline and follow-up testing, diagnosing and managing concussions, and following patients after injury. The comprehensive sports concussion program is comprised of multidisciplinary services, including neurology, neurosurgery, pediatrics, emergency medicine, neuroradiology, sports medicine and physical therapy. Dr. Seifert cares for athletes of all ages and levels – from youth sports to professional leagues. To date, he is the only fellowship-trained headache neurologist in Kentucky.

Dr. Seifert is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Headache Society and the Indiana Sports Concussion Network.

Prior to joining Norton Healthcare, Dr. Seifert served with St. Matthews Neurology for nearly four years. He concurrently worked as a neurology hospitalist, caring for many patients at Norton Suburban Hospital during that time.

A bill designed to protect all student athletes in Kentucky who suffer a concussion has been signed into law. And Tad Seifert, M.D., with Norton Neuroscience Institute was instrumental in helping advise and push for this legislation.
