Norton Healthcare's volunteers are an important part of our mission to provide quality health care to all those we serve. Our remarkable team of employees and volunteers are committed to upholding Norton Healthcare's vision of setting the standard for quality and caring. Sharing kindness and compassion through volunteering is a tradition at Norton Healthcare that dates back to some of our hospitals' earliest years more than 100 years ago.
If you choose to participate in this tradition of excellence, you will be rewarded with gratification and enjoyment for your gift of time and talent. You will form new friendships, experience new challenges and take pride in being actively involved in a meaningful service. Again, thank you for your interest in volunteering at Norton Healthcare. We look forward to meeting you.

April 15 to 21 is National Volunteer Week! Norton Healthcare would like to thank all of our wonderful volunteers for donating more than 99,423 hours of time in 2011 to help us achieve our mission of providing quality health care to our community. Without our volunteers’ selfless devotion, compassionate care and ongoing service, our organization would not be as strong as it is. Please take time this week to join us in expressing gratitude for each and every one of our volunteers.
The new Norton Cancer Institute – Downtown building, on the corner of Floyd Street and Broadway, needs volunteers to help with light clerical duties, make coffee for patients and visitors, greet patients and visitors, assist with patient flow and answer phones. Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. To volunteer, call Melinda Townsend at (502) 629-7075.
