Gary F. Bloemer, M.D.

Gary F. Bloemer, M.D., joined Norton Healthcare in January 2010. He brings more than 22 years of orthopaedic experience to Norton Orthopaedic Care.

Dr. Bloemer is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in knee reconstruction and sports medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He then completed a fellowship in orthopaedic surgery at Hughston Sports Medicine Clinic, Columbus, Ga. 

In addition to knee reconstruction, Dr. Bloemer has special interests in sports medicine, joint replacement, knee injuries and fracture care.

Away from work Dr. Bloemer enjoys spending time with his wife, three children and two stepchildren. He and his family are avid snow skiers. He also enjoys bicycling, hiking and traveling to national parks.
