Alan S. Oster, M.D.

Alan S. Oster, M.D., is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in trauma care. Dr. Oster earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed an orthopaedic residency at the State University of New York in Brooklyn. He then completed a combined orthopaedic surgery and trauma fellowship with the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
Dr. Oster joined Norton Healthcare in 2006. In addition to offering a full range of orthopaedic trauma care, he has special interests in periarticular fractures, periprosthetic fractures, nonunion repairs, total joint revision and foot and ankle conditions.
Dr. Oster’s mission is to ensure each patient is an active partner in his or her care. Through open communication and progressive treatment options, he informs patients about their condition and all surgical and nonsurgical treatments options available.
Away from the office, Dr. Oster enjoys spending time with his four (soon to be five) children and wife. He is an avid cat lover with 10 cats. Dr. Oster loves watching football games and playing football with his children. He served as the team orthopaedic surgeon for the Louisville Fire arena football team.
